A late 1940s piece from Kamehameha Garment Company, established in 1936 as an auxiliary agency of the military manufacturing uniforms for the U.S. Army and Navy, and later growing into Hawaii's largest apparel manufacturer. Gauguin Woodcut, one of many masterpieces, is highly regarded as a work of art in the vintage market. This masterpiece was created by textile designer John Meigs, who collaged prints by painter Paul Gauguin. There are two different designs of the main motif female figure, and while there are various theories, none go beyond speculation, leaving this piece still shrouded in mystery. This is a re-release of the "MYSTIC" (woman standing) version, which was produced in 2014.
