Tailor Toyo Sukajan POLAR BEAR×MOOSE Polar Bear Moose TAILOR TOYO TT15492-119 This is a reproduction of a Sukajan jacket that was produced in the late 1950s by Minato Shokai (the predecessor of Tailor Toyo) at the request of the US military and sold at the PX (base store) on the Alaskan base. The so-called "Alaska jacket" is extremely rare, and the "lightning and polar bear" pattern is especially popular. It faithfully reproduces the specifications seen in acetate Alaska jackets, such as the three stripes on the sleeves.
The reversible side also features moose embroidery, which is very rare in vintage items. The design is a reproduction of a pattern created by a Japanese craftsman in the 1950s based only on a photograph, and the moose's fur and the complex shape of its antlers are meticulously expressed with gradations of brown thread and shading in the embroidery, showing the advanced techniques of the time. A rare design is reproduced on both sides, making this a luxurious piece that has been incorporated into a popular aged model.
